Rummy at Nuremberg

How many witnessed this game of Rummy on Sunday at the Frankenstadion Football field, Nuremberg? I did.. and guess who was dealing the cards. It was none other than the Russian referee Valentin Ivanov officiating the Pre Quarter final knockout tie between Portugal and Netherlands. Thought the referee did some partiality on Portugal's side by dealing them lesser cards, overall the match was fun. :) The match consisted of 25 fouls, 16 Yellow Cards and 4 Red Cards.

Despite the flurry of Yellow Cards and dismissals of Portuguese midfielders Costinha and Deco plus Dutch defender Khalid Boulahrouz and midfielder Giovanni van Bronckhorst, it was a contest of high-quality and much attacking play and Portugal booked their place in the World Cup quarter-finals with a bruising and bad-tempered 1-0 win over the Netherlands.

Now it would be very difficult for Portugal to overcome England in the Quarter finals without Deco and Costinha but still I will put my bet on them.

My prediction for the last phase (I will delete this post, if this doesn’t happen.. :D)

Germany Vs Italy

SAMBA DANCE AT BERLIN :)))

Comments:
There has never been samba dance on european soil. This time too there will be no exception. There will be Oktoberfest in July.

Maybe you are right and since Brazil is out now I would go for the Germans now though Portugal look ominous with C. Ronaldo is form and Deco and Continha coming back in the team.

Till now 3 of my 4 Predictions were right. Brazil was the only mishap and that was the biggest. Now I think it would be a Portugal Germany final with Germany reaching the Glory :)

Believe me, Zizou and co. will have a solid plan for the stud that Ronaldo is!

France Vs Germany (Grand Finale)

My Favs are the French, though Germans have the advantage of home soil.

Dudes....Now that Germany is out too, I am looking forward to a France and Italy playing the final . But Portugal is gonna give a tough fight to the Les Blues. Italy has proved their mettle yesterday. For today’s match I just hope..."may the best team win"....Looking forward to a great duel between Zizou and Figo.
Have not seen a better defense than Italy’s in this worldcup.

And it is France vs. Italy and I am rooting for Italy!

Have absoultely nothing to say now. I was backing Portugal since I thought Deco would be adding flair to Figo's crosses and Ronaldo's pace but Figo was a failure and Deco was just not getting the ball.
France's team is maturing just like French wine. Now i would love to see Zizou retire with the Glory in his hands and add his name to the list which currently has only two players - Pele and Maradona :)

My hearts with France but my mind says Italy.
